This name is worthy of a supervillain, a nemesis of Donald Trump who already has so-many all-around-the-planet. Instead it’s only a tiny green algae which is now flourishing in the Reflecting-Pool on the National Mall since its makeover at $14 million. It’s nicknamed “Skinny Dead Mouse” by scientists : YUK !
So, workers of the National Park Service are battling agains nature and try to clean algae from the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool. By hand and only two days after its filling. US Departement of interior argues that these scenedesmus were « residual algae from the supply lines, which have been sitting dormant for eight weeks while construction has been taking place ». They hope to have finish their cleansing before the festivities of the fourth of july.
Worse : parts of the coating laid in an effort to turn the monument “American flag” blue had appeared to start peeling off. Why paint this pool deep blue? Gold would have been so much more appropriate. Because even with algae, we would have been able to see the reflection on the bottom. It looks like there will be additional work on top of the 14 million during next months.
Donald Trump is definitely not God : God makes the Earth with oceans which are deep blue all over the planet, like all astronauts turning around it have seen them. And oceans of the Earth stays blue. Trump’s pool is turning into a more and more dirty green.
A little bit like his second term : the president’s net approval rating is minus 20, with 60% of Americans citizen disapproving his policies. Mainly his economics.
