After the break between the House of Representatives and Donald Trump about his private war in Iran the day before, when the House approved a war powers resolution aimed at halting U.S. military action, the House passes another bill to aid Ukraine and impose new sanctions on key segments of the Russian economy.
This bill seeks to continue U.S. assistance for Ukraine by providing more than $1 billion in security and reconstruction aid. It would make another $8 billion available for Ukraine’s defense through loans. Right at one of the most difficult moments of this war : Kijv is under massive russian aerial attacks and simustaneously it successfully retaliates by targeting Russian oil infrastructures.
Some republicans bypass leadership of their party and a majority opposes to the President : it’s a clear sign that things are changing. More and more law-makers don’t trust anymore Donald Trump to make them win on the midterms. And they let him know.
The 226-195 vote of this sanctions package is the symptom of deep fed-up with Mr Krasnov’s approach to foreign policy in general, and Ukrainian war in particular.
