In 2022, during Joe Biden’s presidency, at the time of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell presented a calculation before the Senate: a $10 increase in the global price of a barrel of oil leads to a 0.2% increase in inflation and a 0.1% reduction in growth in the United States. At the time, Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude had risen as high as $120 a barrel.
Why is Donald Trump (with the complicity of his Israeli friends) doing the exact opposite of what he promised? Like starting a new, never-ending war, with its wave of terrorism that will inevitably come back to haunt us? Like wasting public money on bombs instead of social programs? Like letting inflation spiral out of control again?
Simply because he doesn’t give a damn about the American people. As long as he and his cronies are filling their pockets…
