Cambridge Analytica, does that ring a bell?

What does Donald Trump want to do with the election data, today held by the states of the federation? Rather, let’s try to understand how he could manipulate them. In an ill-intentioned imaginative way.

As head of the tax administration, he knows who earns how much and can therefore cross-reference voters’ tax data to redraw electoral districts as precisely as his supporters have begun to do in Texas and elsewhere. Donald will be able to gerrymander all the american territory excluding opponents for years.

Under the guise of sending a letter to voters as President of the United States, he could strongly encourage them to vote for his party. He could threaten them with retaliation by withholding their federal benefits if they vote the wrong candidate, as he has already done to the residents of New York and to Argentinos.

He could also, in this letter,  try to buy votes by organizing lotteries as he did with Musk’s help in the final days of his 2024 presidential campaign. But this time with federal money and by arguing that it is necessary to fight against abstention.

That’s why Donald Trump and the Justice Department are suing states in their intend to obtain detailed voter data and other election information. They will manipulate votes much easier.

Long live the banana republic of the United States !
