The First Amendment of the American Constitution says : « Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances ».

In Trump’s America Freedom of expression has taken another slap in the face : this is the second late show that Donald Trump has managed to silence/kill. Jimmy Kimmel’s eviction, by the pressure of Brendan Carr from FCC on Disney ABC, tooks place after the Stephen Colbert’s one.

I really don’t want to discuss if what these two people were saying was right or wrong. They just have the right to say it, period. The right to disagree about all the shit of Charlie Kirk assassination.

Using any kind of pressure on employers, via the IRS, the police, or any other investigative power, is disgusting. Using lawsuits and ruinous fines for newspapers or television stations is disgusting. Blackmailing a media’s board to get journalists fired is disgusting.

All Trumpism is disgusting !

Because Donald Trump demonstrates the gap between a formal freedom, written into the Constitution, and a real freedom, fully exercised with just a tiny bit of protection by the law. Donald Trump demonstrates that the Constitution, he has promised to protect, is just a piece of paper he wipes his ass with.
