Did the men who made United States the greatest country in the XXth century, as Franklin Delano Roosevelt or John Fitzgerald Kennedy, need slogans to remind to the good American people that they were accomplishing great things, all together ? Like winning the Pacific War, abolishing segregation or walking on the moon ? A slogan is always marketing. A slogan to bragg about doing something. Instead of actually doing it, with heart. (actually Trump’s governement is creating nothing, they are only destroying the work of past generations). A slogan is a lie. That’s why I am fed up with this bullshit phrase : make america great again.
First, America has always been great, for its tolerance, its hospitality and the defense of civil rights for all its people.
Secund, the today’s America is betraying these fundamental values, by deporting people, by making peace and big business at the same time, by manipulating laws and elections.
« Make America great again » sounds like Newspeak of Oceania : reverse the meaning of the words and you’ll see reality face to face. Donald Trump is the beginning of the end. His term will be the turning point of the decline of the United States in the world (in the face of China, Russia, by abandoning the Third World or Europe or Ukraine in Europe by promoting Israeli’ dirty and lost cause).
When was the United States the greatest country in the world ? When they guaranteed peace and freedom for every citizen on the american soil. And when they defended that same freedom (of consciouness, speech, or religion) throughout the world. Mainly in front of U.R.S.S.
I’m sorry to say it, folks, but this time of grandeur has gone. Definitively vanished after one hundred days of trumpism.
