Birthright citizenship obeys to rules edicted by the Constitution. The United States’ constitution is the oldest from democracies’ history, It exists since the end of the XVIII th century. But no one is sure it will survive the head-butts of Donald Trump.
The citizenship right, for instance, is guaranted to anyone born under the legal jurisdiction of the federal government by the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, adopted July 9, 1868, which states :
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Donald has signed an executive order at the beginning of his second term, to abolish by threat and intimidation, as always, birthright citizenship (virtue of the person’s birth within United States territory while under the jurisdiction thereof) also called « jus soli ». « Jus soli » is opposed to the « jus sanguinis » : are you american because you are born on the american soil ? OR : are you american because one of your parents (or better acoording to extremists, both) were american ?
For now, the illegitimate and unconstitutional rule enacted by Donald Trump is not retroactive. But who knows? Soon? The time it takes for the information to reach his brain…
Most of dictatures are obsessed by what the tyrans call the purity of the blood (or of the race) of their citizens. They don’t want foreigners blood mix up with their citizens blood, so they exclude interacial mariages and they expell/deport foreigners. Genetic mixing endangers the identity of the dominant group, trumpetists believe.
Following this logic, Donald Trump is a tyran like all others.
