It means that anyone with a personal data server can host the network. The bottom-up model of someone followed by many followers has become naff.
On Friday Oktober 17th, during the NO kings day, the White House joined Bluesky, the social media platform of choice of many in the left-wing online world.
In its inaugural post, The White House account spewed all its usual crap, a summary of the administration’s memes, trolls and messages from President Donald Trump’s nine months since returning to office. The Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Homeland Security also launched Bluesky accounts Friday. Vice President JD Vance joined Bluesky in June.
Does it mean that X or Truth Social are deads ? Maybe not but the Trumpetists understood that the battle of ideas was no longer on their old generation of social networks. Trump’s social media platform of choice is Truth Social. Trump is the biggest shareholder in Trump Media & Technology Group, the company that owns Truth Social. Elon Musk’s social media platform is X ex-Twitter.
