By modifying trade taxes and duties on his own, without consulting Congress, Donald Trump violated the separation of powers. The executive order issued to modify tariffs is illegal. Tariffs fall under the taxing power, and therefore the legislative branch.

The case was decided by the United States Court of International Trade at the end of May. It was appealed to a federal court: the judgment has just been handed down, ruling against Donald Trump by a majority of seven justices to four.

The Supreme Court remains. But if the Supreme Doormat rules again in Donald Trump’s favor, it will be the most scandalous decision in its entire history.
