Yesterday, in 2024, during his campaign, Donald Trump promised us the moon (see picture). I’m sure a lot of us have believed him. But nothing happens. So it reminds me of a (not so) funny story :
« I was going today to a barber shop whose window was displaying the advert : One shave for free ! So I ask for a shave, I got it and I was ready to leave but the barber ask me for 5 bucks.
– Why do you charge me 5 dollars, according to your ad, I thought it was free ?
The barber ask me then to read more carefully the advert. On it, in very small letters, was written : Tomorrow.
So I pay the 5 dollars and tell the barber I will come back tomorrow.
– You will be welcome, sir !
The following day, in other words the day after today, I come back.
– Is it free today ? Because today is the tomorrow of yesterday, isn’t it ?
He shows me the same advert, always with the same phrase : One shave for free.
And the word : tomorrow; in tiny characters.
– Can’t you read ? Today is today and…
– … and tomorrow is tomorrow !
– Right ! he says. It still costs 5 dollars today.
